DAY TWENTY NINE

We only arrived in Paris very late (yesterday) / Friday. The weather is supposed to be amazing today, so we are going to have a good walk I think.

My german friends stays at the MIJE and they get a very basic breakfast and will come to breakfast with me and when they arrived they told me they have tasted some of the things at the St Paul Market, and that we will be going there after breakfast to get prawns.... for the supper time.

We also got some cheese for the evening when we first wanted to go to the point park at the front of the Ille de la Cite and then wanted to eat the rest of supper in my studio. - Their son wanted a knive which was in the 2nd district in the Opera arondissemont and we walked there....and on our way visited a wonderful kitchen shop where my german friend got a pasta stick to roll pasta with.....

We found the small shop with wonderful knives - Opinel, and others..... it was no surprise to me that the Opinel knives we bought in Cape Town was more expensive here.... but, luckily I did not buy a knive we got what we were looking for and went off..... the Tuilleries gardens were calling..... - there it was a wonderful springday and everybody wanted to be out and in the sun..... the flowers are amazing and the trees have leaves.... or most of them anyway.

We sat down for a glass of bubbly and had a wonderful moment in the Parisian sun...and laughed a lot for the various people around us.... Paris is a wonderful strange place some times.

Onwards we went to the Place de la Concorde and then along the Seine back to the Marais and BHV and then to the supermarket to get more things they were asked to bring back to Germany..... we were hungry and tired and it was with huge relief we found a bench in St Paul area just opposite the St Paul Church.....

we drank something and my friends had some cake and then we went on - they had to move their room in the MIJE and after that we got everything together for supper and the "picnic" - and then went off to the Ille de la Cite.

The garden closed at 19h30 but we just sat next to the waterside with our legs hanging down the bank and had some bubbly and bread and cheese..... we walked back in the summer evening to find lots op people on the street, performers, everybody just wanted to get some of the magic of this sunny, spring day........

We had supper and then went our various ways.... tomorrow they will leave again for Germany...
